Frequently Asked Questions

DATADIRECTOR

Q. What is dataDirector?

A. dataDirector is a fully outsourced billing solution for telecommunication companies of all sizes. Supported by best of breed software technology, and delivered under high performance outsourced services, dataDirector allows you to focus on the key drivers in your business.

The dataDirector technology is a web-delivered application that captures “usage” data from multiple sources and across virtually any network, and applies billing rules to the data in order to generate accurate invoicing.

Invoices can be delivered electronically or in the more traditional form of paper billing.

By focusing on the Billing, Payment and Collections business processes Trysoft delivers exceptional performance in telecommunications revenue generation.

Q. Why do I need dataDirector?

A. If you are a licensed carrier, wholesaler or reseller of voice minutes or data then dataDirector can assist you in increasing your revenue through accurate billing and provisioning and reduce your Billing and Operational Support Costs.

If your business is growing rapidly, or you are struggling to manage your billing dataDirector offers relief in a fully outsourced service allowing you to concentrate on your core business.

Q. What makes dataDirector different from other billing systems?

A. dataDirector provides a simple interface to complex Telco products and provides full supply chain management to help you cope with the changing structure of the telecommunications industry.

In its primary form dataDirector is fast and inexpensive to deploy. For more complex environments dataDirector can provide support for your precise business processes through comprehensive customisation of the application.

As well as aggregation of billing in converged telco environments, dataDirector could also provide support for converged utilities markets and support multi-service retails that sell both telco and other utility services such as electricity or gas.

Q. Why would I use an outsourced billing service provider?

A. As the telecommunication industry becomes more complex operators must focus much more heavily on their core business of product development and sales and marketing. By outsourcing you billing and provisioning services you can reduce your costs and improve the effectiveness of your business processes by adding the automation benefits delivered by dataDirector.

Q. How much does it cost?

A. dataDirector is highly cost effective because the cost scales with the volume of transactions you process through the system.

As dataDirector is a bureau based billing and provision service it means there are no software license fees. The charges are based on a once only setup fee to configure and deploy your billing solution plus an ongoing monthly fee, based on a percentage of billed revenue, for applications management, hosting, maintenance and support.

Monthly fees can be as low as 1% but depend entirely on the complexity of the features access.

A cost benefit analysis against your existing or planning billing operations will almost certainly show an immediate and significant saving.

Q. Does it take long to set up?

A. dataDirector can be rapidly deployed. The exact length of time is dependent on the amount of data migration/input required, the number of suppliers for provisioning, the number and complexity of products and services on offer and other factors specific to each individual telecommunications provider.

Of course, a dataDirector deployment can bee as simple or as complex as your environment demands.

Q. Once I have my dataDirector billing service operating is it easy to add new products?

A. If your products rely on the same communications technology as previously billed products you should be able to establish the new product model on-line and in minutes.
If you’re introducing an emerging technology your dataDirector Account Manager can help you define the most effective way of including the new service into your existing billing platform.
